I hope this is the right topic to post in. I'm new to FM. I have an application at a clients site and I keep modifying it at my home office. I want to be able to bring the updated files to the client and bring their records in to the files properly (relationships and all intact). Tried import but it doesn't seem right. Is there a procedure on how to do this? If it is simple maybe someone can explain here or point me towards material I can learn from. Thanks for the help.

What about the import "doesn't seem right"?

I create a clone of the files and put them in a different directory with the same name as the original files. I import the parent and the child databases from the original to the new, but only child records of the last parent record I was in import).

I had closed the original parent and child files and used import setting add new records. I want all records from all files to import.

Do I have the right idea?

The found set is preserved when you close a file and importing only works with the found set.

You need to make sure to do a Show All Records in each file before performing the import.
