I am contemplating purchasing FMP 6. to use on my PB G3 running 9.0.4. What I want to know before I buy, it is will I be able to create a "container" field in which I can drag and drop files from another program to be used as links to open them within their respective application?

I have successfully done this on the PC, but cannot duplicate it on the Mac. I called FM, and they didn't have a clue.

ONLY the Windows OS supports OLE, which is what you are talking about. M$ Office on Mac supports a limited set of OLE, but it is not OS-wide.

However, Troi File Plug-in can do this within Filemaker on a cross-platform basis
