Wireless IEEE FM5 Server host problem

Featured Replies

  • Newbies

I just set up FM5 server and have it humming along via LAN Cables. However, when we connect our Wireless IEEE cards and select HOST we do not have any access. I can ping the hosting computer with no problem and view files on it as well via the wireless. If I reconnect the LAN cable, there's no problem. I tried disabling LAN access through windows and rebooting but the problem persists.

Please help...

Did you try specifying the server IP in host dialog window?

Yes, I tried IP address and Computer Name, both did not work.

IMHO there is problem with port 5003.

Wouldn't georgee have problems viewing hosted files through the cables as well if it was due to a port 5003 problem?

Just a thought are you hosting on Windows?

In Windows if you have 2 or more network cards installed - i.e. your Cable card and your wireless card - Filemaker will only broadcast through the card with ID 0

I am hosting on Windows 2000 and the Wireless is being used on a Windows 2000 laptop.

How do you view/change the ID # the card is using?
