Is it possible to name a new file with a field ?

Featured Replies

Hi

I have a large database which will be broken into many many files eventually, I know that in the scriptmaker you can prename a file for saving . I would like to know if there is a plug-in or another way to name the new file with a field name so it could be done automatically and accurately. Thanks

Dave

I've asked this question also. Here is the response I received. Click Here

A workaround solution, should you not want to invest in the plug-ins, could be to design your script so as to ensure the exportable file name ends up on your clipboard. This would require the export dialogue box to come up with its defaulted file name of say, "Paste Here". The user would need to paste and then continue. This is of course far from ideal, but the best I can think of using Filemakers capabilities only.
