Newbies rh512 Posted January 25, 2002 Newbies Posted January 25, 2002 Hi. I am looking to take a purchase order database and export records to excel automatically every time a PO is created. We have multiple sites, which is a category on the purchase order. I need to separate the spreadsheets in excel by each site and then by month. Is this doable, and if so how would I go about doing this? Thanks for any help.
Steven H. Blackwell Posted January 25, 2002 Posted January 25, 2002 May I ask what you intend to do with the data when thay are in Excel. You might be able to do the same in FileMaker Pro without resorting to the export to Excel. Old Advance Man
Newbies rh512 Posted January 25, 2002 Author Newbies Posted January 25, 2002 It can be done in FMP. Would you be able to give me any advice to keep it in FMP? I know how to create another layout. But how would I get it to do the segmenting itself everytime a PO is created? Thank you.
Steven H. Blackwell Posted January 25, 2002 Posted January 25, 2002 By scripting the creation of the new Po and then having the scripted process continue by performing the "segmenting", whatever that process is. If it is just categorization, then you could do it by sorting. Is that what you're trying to do? Old Advance Man
danjacoby Posted January 28, 2002 Posted January 28, 2002 If all you want is a spreadsheet view of your data, create a columnar layout and use View:Table. No exporting necessary. I like simple solutions, I do.
