Ok here we go, I am still new to filemaker. I have 3 or 4 layouts that i have created. Each layout has a number of fields, but in each layout there is a job# field. Now data is being inported from a number of MS Access databases by OBDC, to these different layouts. now I would like to have a new layout which has the job# fields with all the fields from the other layouts with the same job#.

Any ideas how I should do this?

Thanks All

Hello bwill2000,

It is not possible to import data to a layout as sucg. The data is imported to a record, and a selection of the fields from the record are displayed on each layout.

When you create a layout, you have the option to select which fields should appear on it, from among all the fields on the record, so it should not be at all difficult to incorporate all the fields from all four layouts within a single layout.

It might be a bit denssely packed, though! wink.gif

you can simply select some elements from a layout in layout mode and paste it into another layout. or simply create a new one and select all fields ....
