exporting data from FMP mac to Access windows

I will be attempting to export data from FMP on a Mac to an Access database on a PC. This is for a nonprofit and I'm the one that has to do it. I know a bit. Can I export the mac/FMP data as a .csv or .mer file and load it up to the pc and have access import it from there. Or do I have to have FMP for the pc as well to do this?

thanks

You an export the data in any number of formats -- tab, comman delimited etc, but this only moves the data across. You'll have to re-build all the interface etc in Access by hand.

A client of mine has to send data to a London office that uses Access -- they export using csv with no problem.

You're best bet for getting data across would be csv or the dbf format.

On the mac csv is called comma-seperated text. Problem with it is the cr-lf mac/win difference. If it csv works don't worry about it. On exporting add the .csv extension the filename, windows use extensions to specify file type.

If the cr-lf is an issue the dbf format, it is a space filled format and doesn't use cr of lf to seperate records.
