Newbies Denali Todd Posted February 8, 2002 Newbies Share Posted February 8, 2002 Hello, sorry to post such a simple question...how can I export only a found set of records instead of an entire database? Thank you for your help... Todd
slstrother
Perform your find first, then export. FM will only export the found set.
Newbies Denali Todd Posted February 8, 2002 Author Newbies Share Posted February 8, 2002 Thanks! I didn't realize it was so easy. Another question...is it possible to export a layout from one database to another?
slstrother
No, you cannot export a layout. However, you can copy and paste elements from one DB to another. Or as another option, you can save a copy of the original DB, then update the field definitions, calcs, etc. If your second DB already exists, I would copy and paste. LiveOak
On the Mac, you can copy all the objects on a layout from one database to another. In layout mode (with drag & drop enabled) 1) unlock all objects, 2) Select all, 3) drag the selected objects to the desktop. This will create a "clipping". This clipping can then be dragged to a layout in another FM file (in layout mode). This will copy all the objects, you must still configure the layout parts. -bd
