Can anyone help me?

I want to place my db not on my server but on a network location, now evrything goes well except that the db doesn't work (error message http 500).

The db works fine internal btu when connecting from the net nothing happens.

Maybe I need to change my links?

You are using Filemaker Server?

If so, then the DBs should be placed on the Filemaker Server machine's internal harddrive.

No one needs to have file sharing access to the DBs, and if you need it on a network volume for backup purposes, then just schedule backups in Filemaker Server to backup to the network drive.

We are using windows 2000 adv. in combination with the filemaker server, the problem is that we are going to use a second different document managing system thats why we want to place the FMdb'ses on a different pc so we have 2 machines one for DMS and the other one for FM.

So you want to be able to edit the db within the DMS as well as Filemaker server ? Does not make much sense to me ...

You can still reference any external graphics, files (not filemaker databases) residing on the DMS server, but keep the live Filemaker databases to the machine running FMS.

For backup see captkurt

No we are going to use both systems here at the same time, we want to host some db'ses here for some friends of us and use the DMS ourselves. Now the webinterface is working on our Lan and we want to place it on the net but we prefer the db to stay on the client from us.
