Can somebody give me a check list of possible problems. I'm a novice but have used portals on seveal other forms and this one is a problem. PackageMain.db5 has Packagedetail.db5 relationship by packagenumber. I've opened a portal in PackageMain to Packagedetail, dragged the fields I want into the portal but when I go to browse mode I click on the portal and can not get into fields. Almost like it they are not there (but the portal is):

If the portal shows no data, there is either no relationship (matching keys) or your relationship is false and your fields doesn't come from the relationship established.

If the fields are there but you cannot enter them, check these fields aren't calculations.

Plenty other solutions though...depending on the problem.

As Ugo said, if they are set to calculation fields in Packagedetail, then you can not enter into the field (modify it). Also, check in Packagedetail that they are defined as modifiable.

Have yet set the relationship to "allow creation of related records" - assuming you want to create various package "details" for your specified package?
