Let me clarify.

I'd like to enter a number into a field. As soon as I hit the enter button, I want to execute a script, that'll take me to the record number that I just entered into the field. Do you guys have any help for me on this?

Unfortunately, what you want to do is not native to FileMaker. There are some workarounds. One is a continually running script and the other is based on a value list. A third way is to put a button with the script attached to perform what ever you are wanting to do.

You can also do this with one of the plugins that are available (don't use them myself, so I don't know the name of it.

You might be better off doing this in a different manner than you had envisioned.

What is the significance of the number?

Have you considered a relationship instead?
