Norbert Bissinger Posted May 22, 2003 Posted May 22, 2003 Importing jpgs seems to be posible, but could I directly photograph into FM? Could it be done with a custom script? See this page. web page There is a very small Footnote that this can be done on a Mac, but no mention of the date of this page. Is an update available for Win?
jimkent Posted May 24, 2003 Posted May 24, 2003 Norbert, So far what I have found is a plug in that was developed by Emagex, Inc. They make a Twain Plug-in that will allow you to import any TWAIN compatible product into FileMaker. The only problem is that there are not too many digital cameras that are TWAIN compatible anymore. I heard that the Cannon Elfs are so you might want to try those. Also, if your going to "scan" the photograph in, most Scanners are TWAIN compatable. I don't know the name of Emagex's website but the name of their plug-in is emagexTwain plug-in. You might want to do a search in google for it. Good Luck! hope this helps....Jim
cjaeger Posted May 24, 2003 Posted May 24, 2003 there is even a free windows olugin that does TWAIN at http://www.abstract.com But - as jim pointed out, not of much use with most cams.
Norbert Bissinger Posted May 24, 2003 Author Posted May 24, 2003 Thank you Christian; I do have cameras with Twain Canon G1 and D30 I can use their program to aquiere and then past the picture int any program, but what I want and need is to photograph directly into FM, or any other program availabe. This is called a Hot Folder. Special event programs like Express Digital can do this but it has a very limited database cabability. Please look again at the Mock Site to see what I want to accomplish BTW I am going back to Germany by next year and want to start this business there but try it here first. http://quickflicks.0catch.com/ Norbert
