Skins for Filemaker 5.5?

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Does FM support skins? Can i design a look for an app

that would completely change the look of FM and even get rid of the

FM splash screen?

Thanks

--Dan

yes, you could with applescript studio or realbasic, because almost every filemaker function can be scripted. But that means an application calling an application.

Why not stick to the filemaker interface? It's only the menus and window look you cannot change. Almost everything else can be customized with filemaker layout techniques.

Thanks for the tip, I was just curious.

is there a way to remove/replace the FM startup screen??

--Dan

when you bind the solution with Developer, there is no startup screen, but: you get a closing screen which stays for at least 5 seconds.

Otherwise - no.

While there may be ways to get rid of the startup and/or closing screens - depending on which FileMaker product you are using and your OS, you might want to get out the magnifying glass and check the fine print on your FileMaker Pro license.

Has anyone tried using RealBasic as replacement for FM?

Its has database functionality and its far more customizable then FM.
