clickable field that leads to a web-site/URL

Greetings

I hope this is an easy questions. I've looked through the forums and didn't find what I was looking for - but I may have missed it. I also like you top know that I am fairly new to FP.

I have created a database. In it are the URL's of clients. I would like to be able to click on the field that contains the 'WWW.xxxxxx.com' information relating to the clients unique URL and have it open the browser and go to the site.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

use the open URL script step and have the value set to the field containing your links. Run the script with a button beside the field if you ever have to edit the field or even better turn the field into a button if you do not have to edit you link from that layout.

Bonus:

If you underline the fields' text and have no boarders on the fields' box it will look just like a regular hyper link with mouse over cursor change.

Charles, thank you for your tip. Where do I find, or how do I get to the 'open URL script step'. I am sorry but I spend looking for it everywhere, but no luck. I found a reference to it in the help menu, but could not make head or tale from it. In the standard scripts I have a heading open

It's way down the list under Miscellaneous.

It's been around since FileMaker 4.
