Portal Row Select Script Problem

I have a portal on a layout in my database. When a user clicks a button on the layout, I would like a certain record to be displayed, and a particular row of the portal to be selected. I can do this, no problem.

The problem I have is when the user clicks on a field outside the portal after having clicked the button, I would like that portal row to remain selected. Instead, the portal jumps up to the first row.

Anyone have any ideas on how I can get around this?

You must probably change the sorting of portal.
