Kermy Posted June 3, 2003 Posted June 3, 2003 Hi, I work on a PC but I was told to build a database and have PDF files embedded in the database. I've been doing this by having container fields and inserting the PDF files that way. But the problem is when I go to my boss who works on OSX, the container fields show a windows icon and when he double clicks on the icon it doesn't open the PDF file. Any ideas? Thanks, Kermy
jfmcel Posted June 19, 2003 Posted June 19, 2003 Do you have the store compatible graphics preference checked?? (Look for it in the Document Preferences.) PDF file embedded in the database ?? I am not sure, but if you are not storing them as file references, the PDF is converted and stored in filemaker in anouther image format. There might be difference between how PDFs are handled in windows and on the mac (e.g. if you double click on a container PDF in windows I understand it will open the PDF in a PDF reader -- a feature not available under Mac OS).
cjaeger Posted June 19, 2003 Posted June 19, 2003 Didn't you ask that question before? http://www.fmforums.com/threads/showthreaded.php?Cat=&Board=UBB16&Number=70060&page=&view=&sb=5&o=&vc=1
