Chinese Data Import

I'm trying to import a big list of Chinese names into one field but they turn into ?? marks. I can input the Chinese name individually without problem. Maybe the clipboard does not support Chinese and strips all the formating?

Is there any way around it?

I have an old FM Pro 3.0 version.

Any help is much appreciated.

First thought: Is the field a number field? If so, then if the entry is too long for the field, you'll get a question mark, which would explain why one name fits fine, but many are too long.

This probably ain't it, but it's a start.

Question marks are often displayed by applications which are unable to handle non-Latin text encodings. I suspect this is the problem here.
