I am very new to FM and databasing, so please forgive my terminology if incorrect.

I have many flat files with nothing more than email addresses within them. First, I would like to import them into FM. Secondly, I would not want any duplicate entries; but instead, a column in the database which tells me how many times that specific entry was attempted to be imported.

Example: ([email protected]) is on files 'A, B and C'. When I import file 'A', it would added ([email protected]) to the 'Address' column, then put a number one in the 'CountImport' column. When I import file 'B', it would see the email address already is there and not add add to the database, but increase the 'CountImport' field to the number two. And so on.

Thanks in advance for any help. I'm assuming some sort of script needs to be created. Please explain in detail as I'm not an FM pro smile.gif
