I am new to FM. I want to use it to let my students answer qustions.

Now I have a question.

Can I use the mac build in web sharing or should I use Appleshare IP for this? I on't have any experience with AppleShare IP so my preference is to avoide it but if it is a must ...

Neither one. FileMaker has its own networking capabilities. You only need a Physical network for it to work.

Filemaker networking works over AppleTalk, TCP/IP and IPX/SPX. Any one of those protocols is all you need.
