DigitalDreamer Posted June 28, 2003 Posted June 28, 2003 I was wondering if i could ask a question about a solution i have. I developed a solution on the Windows platform and i wanna create a Mac version. Can i run my solution through Developer tool in Windows and send it to someone on a Mac platform? And if i can, what program would you recommend to make the installer file? Thanks for any help you can give me. Filemaker Dev. 6 Windows XP Pro
Fenton Posted June 29, 2003 Posted June 29, 2003 You have to "bind" runtimes on their own platform. And there are 2 Mac platforms now; OS X runtimes require a separate operation. But people with OS X can still open an OS 9 or previous runtime (because they have both OS's on one computer), so that's not much of a concern. I imagine your Developer CD has all platform versions on it. Isn't that true? My version 5 did anyway (not OS X; it wasn't out yet). So you basically have to find a Macintosh computer.
DigitalDreamer Posted June 29, 2003 Author Posted June 29, 2003 Thanks for your response. Is there any type of emulator i can get that will help me out with this? I was reading about Connectix Virtual PC 5.2 but i dont think it emulates Mac OS. Are there any others out there that you know about? Thanks.
Anatoli Posted June 29, 2003 Posted June 29, 2003 You can get Basilisk II which emulates pre-PCC Macs on PC, I believe up to 8.1 MacOS. http://www.uni-mainz.de/~bauec002/B2Main.html Virtual PC emulates PC on Mac.
