I would like to know if there is a way to insert a pdf picture into a layout. Thanks.

You can insert a PDF into a layout (at least with FM 6 and OS X), and you can even import the PDF as a file reference, I am not sure exactly how it is handled, but it appears to just convert the first page into an image, similar to how PDFs are handled if they are imported into a container as an image (at least on the macs).
