Newbies Danika Posted July 7, 2003 Newbies Share Posted July 7, 2003 I received two files from a client named "desktop db" and "desktop df". I was told they were in filemaker pro format. I don't have filemaker pro - is there a way for me to convert these files using excel, foxpro, spss, knowledgeseeker, or SQL Server?
Fitch
No. You could try the FileMaker demo at www.filemaker.com. Or if you ask nicely, somebody here might be willing to accommodate you. That said, I don't think those are FileMaker files.
Clint
Those are Filemaker databases. They are part of the Macintosh file system. Normally they are invisible files to a Macintosh, but when a disk is made from a mac and put into a Windows machine, those files become visible to the PC. They are for the Macintosh desktop and files system. Whom ever told you they were Filemaker sent you and a wild goose chase.
Fitch
I think Clint meant to say they are NOT FileMaker databases...
