Question 1:

I want to have a value list of contacts, with values from a second database, but only those with client=clientname.

Is it possible?

Question 2:

Multiple choice value list? Is it possible? I want my users to be able to choose from more than one object in the list.

Thanks,

Martin

When you create a value list, select 'use values from field'. There you have the option to use 'only related values'. Create a relationship between the two files based on client number (again, I wouldn't recommend client name, especially if it happens to change), and you're ready to go.

If you format your field as a pop-up menu, you can hold down the Shift key when clicking the field to select multiple options. You will have to Shift then click, Shift then click, etc. because the menu will disappear after each selection, but you will see multiple check marks next to the options when you click into the field again.

Thanks for all your quick answers today!

I'm really thankful as my Filemaker knowledge sucks...

Thanks again!

Hey, no sweat. I've taught myself a lot today too! Before you asked about multiple selections, I didn't even know that pop-up menus supported it but pop-up lists don't laugh.gif

I'm sorry that I must go to bed now, though. I've been up for 24 hours. Sadly at least half of those were spent on this site. shocked.gif I'll answer anything I can 'tomorrow' (work starts in 4 hours), if you don't receive help from others first.

Have a great day!
