Connecting Remote User to PC with a Static IP

I have an FM6 solution running on a Win2000 PC with a static IP address. I have a remote user running FMP6 also. Can the remote user access the FM6 solution by entering the static IP adress in their "host" dialogue, or is this an oversimplification of what's needed? Thanks.

That should be all that is required as long as you don't have a firewall or router between the two machines. If you do, then you need to configure the firewall/router to let the data through. There are a number of posts in this section that give the settings.
