new comer Posted July 15, 2003 Posted July 15, 2003 I selected all the fields to sliding up. I set the text to the left-top. I tried "all above" and "Only directly above". I tried to check and uncheck "Also reduce the size of the enclosing part". I changed the font and its size... Sliding doesn't work! BTW, I use Window2000, FM5.5, and HP LaserJet 4050. I have searched in this Forum all over, but cannot find the answer. Someone please help me! Thanks in advance!
cjaeger Posted July 15, 2003 Posted July 15, 2003 try a "select all" on a copy of the layout, then set sliding. You might have missed an element.
Mike D. Posted July 16, 2003 Posted July 16, 2003 Have you looked at the preview of the report? Does it look OK on screen and the actual printout not sliding? Mike
-Queue- Posted July 16, 2003 Posted July 16, 2003 As Mike alluded, sliding only works in Preview Mode. Browse/Find modes will not slide fields set as such.
new comer Posted July 16, 2003 Author Posted July 16, 2003 I did look at it in preview mode and printed out as well.
kennedy Posted July 17, 2003 Posted July 17, 2003 What part is the element in? Sliding and shrinking the enclosing part only works in some parts... primarily the parts that repeat in list-type reports. It will not shrink the header, nor will the header elements slide up, for example. HTH.
new comer Posted July 18, 2003 Author Posted July 18, 2003 All the objects are in body part. I created a table view layout and used a standard theme.
Mike D. Posted July 18, 2003 Posted July 18, 2003 Table View?!? I don't think sliding works in table view. Change your layout to list or form. Close up the body section so there is very little or no extra space between the bottom of the lowest field in the body section and the footer. Mike
new comer Posted July 18, 2003 Author Posted July 18, 2003 Not works in table! Mike, thank you very much for telling me this!
