Conditional value list for find on related field

Featured Replies

I have a conditional value list created from a relationship from file A to file B based on a global field in file A. The global is set to create the relationship. If I use the value list on a field in file A for finds it works fine. If I put it on a related field from file C, I can use it to edit the field but the list is not availible in find mode.

It seems as though the list is not being generated but doesn't give the <value list missing> error.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Wayne

It won't work. It's a related field. In Find Mode, this relationship is "dead".

The list works if I use it on a field within the current file.

I thought by using a global for the relationship it would be valid in find mode.

The main reason for the searching on a related field is because it is faster than searching on an unstored calculation in file A. Is there a way to store

a calculation based on a related file.

Thanks,
