joseppic Posted August 13, 2003 Posted August 13, 2003 Hi, I wish to make a DB secure. In the past I've setup password access; low priv users just press return, high priv users ender a password known by all senior people. The problem with this is that low priv users have to type return - an unnecessary action. So.. Is there a way so that a password is only prompted for if a user tries to enter data into a field, rather than just browsing it which can be done with no password requests? I also need such a solution to work in a portal. Any ideas? Thanks, Joseppic
danjacoby Posted August 13, 2003 Posted August 13, 2003 Set the "blank" password as the default in Preferences. High privilege users would have to hold down the option key on a Mac or the shift key in Windows when opening the file in order to get the dialog box where they can enter their password (thus "overriding" the default).
