Newbies Karl Kuehn Posted August 14, 2003 Newbies Posted August 14, 2003 I am just finishing up a small project that needed to be in filemaker, and print out high quality images. Since we produce catalogs, I naturally used TIFFs as the image format. However, when I wrote an applescript to import all of the records (necessary due to some logic needed to import the thousand or so images), I kept erring out on a group of images with a "incorrect data type" on some images. After hitting my head on a wall for a while I finally discovered that these images happened to have transparency enabled. After a re-save in photoshop, they imported fine. Lesson learned: filemaker does not like transparency
RPM Posted August 22, 2003 Posted August 22, 2003 I wish it was that easy for me. I cannot import ANY TIF files...period. LZW compressed - no compression, transparency, no transparency...it does not matter. If the file ends in "tif" Filemaker chokes and will not import it.
kenneth2k1 Posted August 22, 2003 Posted August 22, 2003 It seems that FM likes JPEG more than anything else. This doesn't mean that it is the only format supported. It's just real universal. Ken
