If I use a merge field which combines several fields, it can end up being a lot larger than the resultant text. Usually this isn't a problem because I just position the merge field to center within the area and it displays fine.

However at times, it is a royal pain because it extends too far to the right and either overruns the portal or overruns the layout or jumps to the next line. It's very messy and can cause the scroll arrow to appear on my layout because it extends too far to the right. Is there any way I can FORCE it to remain a certain size but leave the text size the same when it finally displays? I hope this question made sense and that someone can help me. Thank you.

hi Linda,

the formatting for a merge field is actually contained within the << symbols, so you can change the field name text to a smaller size, narrower font, un-bold, whatever.... and it will still display/print as you wanted.
