JimWashDC Posted September 2, 2000 Posted September 2, 2000 Is there any way to take the value from a field and change the user name as appears in the application preferences using a script? The only way I can think of is to use the script command to go to the application preferences screen then have the user manually enter their name.

Otherwise, you might consider keeping the user name in a separate field so that you can change it. Chuck

You might consider using a seperate login system within the Filemaker databases, which gets a username and/or password from the user. This can be stored in a field and accessed from anywhere. This also gives you the ability to know who is actually logged in. ------------------ =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Kurt Knippel Consultant Database Resources mailto:[email protected] http://www.database-resources.com =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
