can someone help me figure out why my screen layout doesn't print exactly like it looks on the screen. the margins on my print are wider (so it seems) and it causes a fluctuation in spacing between paragraphs. please help! i am desperate.

If you're on Windows, then it's a natural occurrence. WYSIRWYG (What You See Is Rarely What You Get!) It sounds like you might have some luck,however, by going into Layout mode, selecting Layouts->Setup and 'fixing' your page margins.
