Do What?

Hello macster,

I see you're new around the forum, so welcome!

At present, you seem to be creating a new thread when what you really want to do (or at least, what you should be doing) is responding to an existing thread. The easy way to respond is to enter your reply into the box at the bottom of the thread - or to click on the 'reply' link at the top right of the post you're responding to. wink.gif

Meanwhile, yes, you're right that what Vaughan said does mean that there is a way to do what you want.

However it is not clear to me from your question whether you really need a second value list, or whether it would be better to place the value which corresponds to the first selected value straight into the second field (ie if there is only one value - as in the example you cited - that would make sense). If so, that can be done by defining the second field as an auto-enter lookup based on a relationship which links the first field to a reference table in the same or another file.

However if there are occasions when there is more than one related value, a second list which is dependent on the selection in the first can be achieved by creating what is termed a 'conditional value list. You'll find an example of such a set up available for download at:

The demo is a free download and shows a simple implementation of a conditional value list in operation. wink.gifcool.gif
