Calendar, Diary and Planner headaches

Featured Replies

Hi all,

As there seems to be a trend for Calendar these days....

I'm half my way through my first calendar/planner which is the last peace for a Contact Manager solution. This solution will be dispatched to the Company subsidiaries.

At the moment, the calendar allows "Company Settings" (different Holiday periods, Days offs, some subsidiaries would have Week-Ends closed, other Sunday and Monday,...), and "Employee Settings" (Holidays, Half-week job, 4/5 days work,...).

Each day and preferences is scripted and indexed, suitable for ulterior relationships, so it's not an Infinite Calendar.

One wish was to allow one user to schedule an appointment with another user, without opening any agenda or diary, nor phone calls. Moreover, apart his/her assistant, nobody might see this user's calendar.

Another was to allow schedule of meetings involving several employees, given a week range, an the duration of meeting.

It's terrible.I can succesfully determine the date of this appointment, or meeting, using the Calendar "preferencies", but I really have no clue how to determine the hours....

I can input individuals appointments. Clicking in the diary part would lead me to the scheduler Line Item as simple as

Date

Employee

Task

Hour Start

Hour End

But that's all I can do...

Thanks for any input you could provide.
