LarryLogic Posted October 8, 2003 Posted October 8, 2003 How can I have a script run automatically at a specific time of day? Larry
andygaunt Posted October 8, 2003 Posted October 8, 2003 Larry - To make a script run at a preset time and/or date you will need either an events plugin such as oazium events from www.wmotion.com or scriptit from www.cnsplug-ins.com or troiactivator from www.troi.com. Alternatively you may be able to use a processing agent. For more information on this you can check out http://wmotion.com/support.html and also http://www.filemakermagazine.com/Article491.html HTH
LarryLogic Posted October 8, 2003 Author Posted October 8, 2003 Would I have a problem using Pause/resume script() and set it to activate after a commonly used script. This seems to work for a Promo layout I use. If another script is used it seems to stop the Pause/resume script. Could I set it for eight hours and assume it would work overnight. Its for backing up data using export so it won't hurt if it happens more often. Larry
Fitch Posted October 8, 2003 Posted October 8, 2003 What platform are you on? It's easy to do this sort of thing with a "cron" utility.
DonH Posted October 9, 2003 Posted October 9, 2003 You can use a DOS Batch file with the scheduler to do backups on Windows. Even I figured out how to do that.
