preventing user from creating duplicate records

Hello,

i was wondering if someone can help me. we are running fm 6.0 and i am trying to prevent user from duplicating record when they click on the file:records:duplicate. the users have password which allow them to edit and create new record, browse but i am want to turn off the duplicate from the menu. I saw around a plugin but i dont want to spend money ont it. is there a way using scripting and group access?

Remove menus for that group of users in access privileges and run everything through scripts and button interface.

i was wondering if there was another way but the more i look at it. this will be the way to do it.

I don't know other way without plugin.

Scripts are our best friends. We can really control everything through scripts.

Best tip -- number your scripts e.g.

01.01 housekeeping cleanup

01.02 multi-user off

01.03 multi-user on

It will save you hours in chasing script in small (pathetic) script allocation window!
