Anatoli Posted October 17, 2003 Posted October 17, 2003 IMHO -- there isn't much in manual. Install FMS Put the FM files with multi-user on into FMS directory. Underscore _ on the end of filename will hide the file like Menu.fp3 will be visible, Invoices_.fp3 will not be visible on network. Restart the PC. On any workstation open files with HOST button in Open dialog. HTH
DonH Posted October 20, 2003 Posted October 20, 2003 Actually there is a wealth of information in the manuals, some of it is actually worthwhile. However, you can't have mine because I am running FM 3 also. I haven't tried the filename_.fp3. That may work. However, I DO know that filename.fp_ works to hide them. That is what all the files except the main one use to be hidden.
Anatoli Posted October 20, 2003 Posted October 20, 2003 All my files are till today named like "System_.fp5". The conversion to fp5 changed not only extension, but also set each such file as Multi-user Hidden.
John Chamberlain Posted October 21, 2003 Author Posted October 21, 2003 Hi Don - Any chance of getting a Xerox of the manual? I will gladly pay the costs. Regards, John
