Newbies NoNameGiven123 Posted October 25, 2003 Newbies Posted October 25, 2003 I'm new to FMP 6, having 'learned' Access for years (but never well enough to get my project finished!) What are the 'limitations' of FMP 6? I understand it's 2GB per 'database' (akin to a 'table' in Access?) and up to 125 databases (i.e. 250 GB theoretical total?). But....in Access, 4096 is the character limit in a function (I think that's what it is...); 255 characters for a field name; etc. Where can I find a COMPLETE list of FMP specifications? (i.e. limitations) Thanks!
CobaltSky Posted October 25, 2003 Posted October 25, 2003 Hi, You'll find the technical specifications of FileMaker Pro 5.5 at: http://www.filemaker.com/ti/107472.html FileMaker v6.0 introduced a few additional features and options, but did not change the file structure nor the technical limits of the application. As far as I know, FMI have not published a separate tech spec for v6, so I think that the above link is about as close as you'll get.
