i have 2 files with a relationship setup. one is a sort of a log that displays a summary of all the records in the second file. problem is... i can't seem to have the log display all the records from the file, just the first one, and if i delete it, then no records will be displayed... any ideas?

It sounds as if your relationship may be unique instead of universal. You don't want it to be related by serial, but by a constant 1 in each file. Then, using a portal, you can display any information from all records in the second (child) file.
