Have read through all these forum messages but can't get it straight.......

I have Windows XP, Filemaker 5.5 can I fax without a plug-in? And if so anyone got a script for it.

You can certainly fax from FileMaker without any extra plug-ins - Faxing generally is just printing.

the trickier part is to fax "silently" - that is to not bring up any dialog box. - this has to do with the capabilities of the Fax software/Server - we are using a Castelle FaxPress 5000 server and it has a small DOS program that accepts a text file and converts it to a file that can be understood by the fax software. You'd have to be a little more specific I think (OS, Fax hardware and software and other needs) to get more help.
