From time to time you probably need to clean up text fields by removing extra carriage returns or spaces. The trim function will remove spaces at the ends of text but not in the middle, and it will remove all of them, even though you likely want to leave a single one in place. So, a common procedure is to run the text through a Substitute formula like this:

Substitute(InputText,

"So, if you were wondering what people do when they have too much time on their hands, now you know."

That's the only bit I really, truly understood. wink.gif
