Has anybody come across what may be a bug, a problem with reports not appearing properly, when I set up a grouped and sorted report everything is fine it prints and all is as it should be,then I close the file and reopen it and none of the grouping is retained I just end up with a list in the body.

I've just repeated this about 3 times in a row.

FMP 5.5, Mac os 9.0.4

If you don't sort before previewing the report or after opening your tables each time, records will be in creation order, always. FileMaker defaults to this order since it has no idea which order you want on open, unless you tell it specifically. You could conceivably have hundreds of sorts for different reports in the same table. How is it supposed to know which to use? Exactly why you need to specify it each time you require a different sort than creation order.

Six years of Filemaker and I'd never noticed that before.
