Newbies usmarinecpl Posted November 10, 2003 Newbies Posted November 10, 2003 Here is the scenario. I have a Windows 2000 Server with an active directory domain. I have the FMP databases on a shared folder. I have a script mapping the workstations (all XP Professional) to the shared drive. I can open the databases on the server and it says that it's opening the files for network sharing. However, none of my users can open them. They will get the "file is currently in use and cannot be opened". If I move those databases to another workstation, they can be opened just fine. I have removed the shared name from the folder, and moved the databases around the server, but I still get the same error. Can someone help please?
Anatoli Posted November 11, 2003 Posted November 11, 2003 That is absolutely WRONG way! You need FM server installed on W2000 workstation no sharing! FM users will connect through HOST button in Open dialog. Read more on FM website.
