DocDeb Posted November 17, 2003 Posted November 17, 2003 Using FMP 6 with Win XP Pro. A Landscape layout, which is 16 pages deep. The Header is 70px, 0.972in, or 2.469cm. The Footer is 14px, 0.194in, or 0.494cm, The Body is 279.223px, 109.931in, or 279.223cm, I usually work with
Vaughan Posted November 18, 2003 Posted November 18, 2003 Make sure the header is really a "Header" part and not a "Title Header" which only prints on the first page, Ditto for the footer.
DocDeb Posted November 18, 2003 Author Posted November 18, 2003 Oh ya, it's a Header and Footer alright. Not a Title Header or Title Footer.
Kundinger Posted November 18, 2003 Posted November 18, 2003 Hi 'DocDeb', Quick answer... Check your body... make sure ALL objects in the body DO NOT touch the header or footer. Do a 'select-all' and 'shift-click' all the objects in the header and footer... you should now see object 'handles' for all the remaining objects... are any of these objects laying inside or touching the header or footer boundaries? Hope this Helps! Bob Kundinger [email protected]
DocDeb Posted November 19, 2003 Author Posted November 19, 2003 Thanks Bob, I've double and triple checked... nothing is touching the header or footer. Anything else you can think of? All other layouts and databases work fine. Which makes me think there is some quirky something on this layout that I can't find.
Kundinger Posted November 19, 2003 Posted November 19, 2003 Hello again 'DocDeb', You know... you might have something there... I've had that happen... bad layouts! I had situations where things didn't work quite right... real quirky-ness. Sometimes I'll use the 'recover' command to rebuild the whole file. Other times I just duplicate the layout and 'presto'... it works! Then on a rare occasion, I've had to go through the whole layout building process to make everything function properly. Other than that... nothing comes to mind right now... I'll let you know if I recall any other ideas... Good Luck! Bob Kundinger [email protected]
DocDeb Posted November 19, 2003 Author Posted November 19, 2003 I have had limited success. I have changed the resolution on one networked printer to 300 DPI and it prints just fine, (header and footer are visible on all pages), a little lighter, but acceptable. Another networked printer doesn
DocDeb Posted January 9, 2004 Author Posted January 9, 2004 I have found a solution, which is to make the body of the layout 4 inches shorter than the maximum space. I did try to specify page margins in the Layout Setup to various settings with no luck. I have created other databases with plenty of layouts and this was the first time this has happened to me. Considering it was the longest layout I created (maximum page length), I decided it had something to do with the total distance end to end of the layout. Shrinking the page seemed to be the only fix for me.
