Newbies sumsum Posted January 5, 2004 Newbies Posted January 5, 2004 We have several relational databases hosted on an OS 9.1 machine using FM Pro5. These databases are accessed over a network by five macs. The whole system worked great for about a month, then we started to experience frequent type1 and type2 crashes on the host machine. The crashes seem to occur most frequently, but not exclusively, when focussing a hidden related database as a new primary (interface). Fonts are a likely culprit, but the host machine has only OS fonts installed, and ATM found that two of these were damaged. After removing them, the crash problem persists. We have reinstalled the OS, and Filemaker. No help. The database files seem to work fine running on another machine. So it appears that the files are not implicitly corrupted. Does anyone have thoughts? Regards, Sumsum
Vaughan Posted January 6, 2004 Posted January 6, 2004 What version FMP 5.5? FMP 5.5v4 is the one you should be using.
kenneth2k1 Posted January 6, 2004 Posted January 6, 2004 I think Type 1, 2, and 3 are memory errors of different sorts. You might wanna try increasing the allocated memory for the program (if possible) Or, switch to OSX or Windows2k, or something with memory management.
