Hi all,

Just curious to see some other options than what I'm currently using.

To keep it simple.

Product File holds a List price

Items are entered through portals in both Quotes.fp5 and CustomerOrders.fp5, related to the same Line Items.

Portals set to allow creation of related records.

An Order (or an Item in this Order) could reference either a Quote or a Previous Order.

1. How would you set these relationships (QuotesToLineItems and OrderToLineItems), so that even if auto-entered, the new record could be affiliated to an Order and somehow also related to another existing ID.

2. What kind of structure would you adopt into the Line Item to have this working

Currently, the process is 100% scripted and "Allow creation of related records" is unchecked.

Products are set into the Line Item by picking them out from 2 filtered portals (Line ItemsByQuoteOrOrder and ProductsByCategory).

If an Order derived from a Quote, the link is set by script too, involving one Unique_Id.

Just wondering if I was again over-complicating the job. crazy.gif
