Can someone tell me if this is even possible?

Need to save a fmp 5 file for someone who only has version 3 and 4?

Old question. In a word, no.

The two versions are totally different programing. Although you can convert a 3/4 file to 5+, you can not reliably go back.

The best you could do is to export your file in one of the Text formats and import the data into a file created in 3/4 format.
