simoncpage Posted March 3, 2004 Posted March 3, 2004 Im trying to run an end of day backup on to another computer - so the backup address is ServernameFolderFolderFolder format but in the error logs it says it cannot recognise it. If I give it a standard local address it works fine? Any one shed some light on this??? Thanks Simon
esteshk Posted March 6, 2004 Posted March 6, 2004 On Windows, map to the target drive (make sure you click reconnect at startup) then select it as the destination for your backup in FileMaker Server's backup dialog.
simoncpage Posted March 8, 2004 Author Posted March 8, 2004 I tried that I mapped the ServernameFolder to B: and added this on the backup location but it still didn't like it and error log says it can't be found S
Vaughan Posted March 8, 2004 Posted March 8, 2004 Is a user logged-in while the backup is being performed?
simoncpage Posted March 9, 2004 Author Posted March 9, 2004 Yes I'm logged in to the machine running the backup on the console? I have kind of got around it by creating a shared folders (backup1 and backup2) which only are allowed access via the server machine and is backup once at night (for offsite backup). In a white paper I was reading this kind of sharing should be okay? Do you know where I can get updates for server 5? Thanks Simon
