simoncpage Posted March 8, 2004 Posted March 8, 2004 Hi Can someone explain to me how this works? I recently had my server v5 setup for 2hour flush (and I think this is why) and notice that some people were complaining that details that they had added were not showing up. So I changed this to the default of 15mins and rebooted the server and some of the entries which we couldn't find had appeared. Can someone tell me if this is the case that cased this or whether I should be looking into something else?? Thanks Simon
Steven H. Blackwell Posted March 8, 2004 Posted March 8, 2004 30 minutes is a more appropriate time. BTW if the cache is full, it wil starting flushing irrespective of the settings. This varies by OS. What OS is your server CPU? Also be sure that you have the latest v-rev of FileMaker Server 5. THe initial release had some issues with cache. Steven
simoncpage Posted March 8, 2004 Author Posted March 8, 2004 Any idea where i can get hold of the updates? Its running on windows XP. Thanks Simon
Steven H. Blackwell Posted March 8, 2004 Posted March 8, 2004 FileMaker Server (5.5) is not supported for Windows XP. Misbehavior can and will occur. Please see these White Papers: http://www.filemaker.com/downloads/pdf/fms_best_practices.pdf http://www.fmp-power.com/Optimal_Server.pdf Steven
