Web cams & container fields

Featured Replies

Can FM7 handle streaming video?

Could you hook up a webcam and dump the results to a container field?

Version: v6.x

Platform: Mac OS 9

Jarvis, I don't know the answer to this one but I have a question. Why would you want to do this? I can see creating a database where image captures from a web cam are stored in a container field. But why would you want streaming video placed into a database. I can also see storing streaming video in a database as an archive but not as a live feed.

I'm just curious as to why you would want to do this.

pmconaway,

It was probably some kind of an aneurysm that prompted me to be curious about that.

A portion of the database I am working on includes movie clips.

I am very intrigued about the concept of dynamic container fields.
