How to convert many fm6 db files into one fm7 db ?

Featured Replies

How can I convert a fm6 database with many seperate files into one (1) fm7 database file?

Version: v7.x

Platform: Mac OS X Panther

How about exporting the necessary fields from each file to a text/tab delimited file, then importing each file into the appropriate table in the fp7 file?

Or am I being to simplistic?

The way I see it you dont import into the file but import into the table.

ie select a layout that is linked to a particular table and import will only go into fields in that table.

The problem is you cant duplicate the fields of the exporting file (not within filemaker at least) into the tables of new v7
